Tourist To Do in NYC

Updated: Jul 31, 2023

Travel guide to New York City

Ever since I moved to NYC, I have been getting DM's asking for my recommendations for thier trip to the city. So here you go!! I am finally making a list : ) !! friends visiting NYC, planning a trip can feel overwhelming and many people have asked me for recommendations on unique places, the must see places and great places to eat, drink and stay caffeinated in the city that never sleeps. So here's a helpful list of the things I loveeee about this city and don't want you to miss, even if you are just here for a weekend.

This city is magic. There is truly no place like New York and I am excited to share a few of my fave spots with you:

New York Touristy To Dos:

  • Top of the Rock Rockfeller Center- beautiful view of the city, recommend going here at sunset and wear an outfit you want to take lots of photos in.

  • Central Park and The Met - upper east side, Central Park is amazing and right by the Museum, you can warm up or cool down inside for a few hours! (Museums are ideal for a rainy day!)

  • The High Line/Chelsea Market/ Little Island- all in the same area, start off by walking the High Line- a beautiful restored above ground railroad track turned into a walking trail throughout the city and then stop in to Chelsea Market, a fun indoor shopping space with great quick food stop by Little Island, for great views of the water.

  • Shopping in Soho- explore shopping the best of the best brands. This is my personal favorite part of the city.

  • Times Square- after dark so you can see the lights... on your way to a Broadway show!

  • Statue of Liberty, via the Staten Island ferry- it’s free and you can see a good view of it while on the ferry!

  • Winter/ Holiday Musts: Bryant Park- Iceskating and holiday market- great local gift shopping and food + hot coco! Then stroll on down Fifth Avenue and see the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and Saks Fifth Avenue light display.

EATS:

  • Gotta grab a NEW YORK SLICE/ a few of mypersonal favorites- Prince Street Pizza and Joe's Pizza

  • Alsooo try a bagel!! The best!! Zuckers or Pick-a-Bagel are both chains around the city that I LOVE.

Casual Lunch: (Soho) Fanelli Cafe / The Grey Dog (Chelsea/ East Village/ Soho)

Dinner: Ruby's (Soho/ East village) Norma (Hell's Kitchen) Emmy Squared (Upper East Side)

In NYC, there is truly something for everyone, so if you are interested in fashion, theatre, live music, shopping, museums, you can find it all in New York City, and it will be the best of the best.

NYC friends- What did I miss? Whatwould you add to the list?

Enjoy your trip & try not take up too much space walking slow on the sidewalk. (hehe!!)
